Widely known as the most important of all the food crops, Wheat is the most grown crop in India. It is being grown in India for more than 5000 years & the new age wheat i.e. Triticum aestivum or the common Bread Wheat is being consumed all over India. It is being produced most in the states of Punjab, Uttar Pradesh & Madhya Pradesh. Wheat sets up well in the low temperature as it is a winter crop & it requires no less than 75 cm rainfall. Clayey soil is more preferred which is well drained & requires less labor.

As it is our important part of diet where we are either consuming it in the refined form or the unrefined form, from noodles to the chappaties & other various edible food products that form our daily staple diet consists of wheat. The major source of the vegetable protein as compared to other few cereals being produced in India. However this wheat crop is not safe from some of the insects that damage this crop at a very significant pace which further affects the cultivation of wheat. The disease causes death of the infant leaves prematurely & thus affecting the amount of sunlight capturing capability of the plant which further affects the grain production.

To increase the better productivity of the wheat crop farmers must focus onto the described below methods:

Processed & clean seeds : “What you sow, is what you Reap”, the better the quality of the processed seeds then better would be the growth of the wheat plant. Soil Tests: Without having proper fertile soil for wheat cultivation the production would always suffer to the farmer. Determine the nutrients requirement of the soil before starting to grow wheat. Addition of Nutrients to make soil better is always considered a smart choice, nitrogen, phosphorus & other nutrients make soil much more fertile towards wheat growth.

Inconsistent production trends: Sugarcane competes with various crops like rice, wheat, cotton, etc., hence, the land available for the cultivation of sugar is often not enough to grow the crop is bulk quantity leading to fluctuation in production trends. This impacts the supply of sugarcane to the mills and manufacturing of sugar is also affected as a result.

Crop Rotation is being advised for not only wheat growth but also for many other crops , for example soya cultivation is being favored initially before growing wheat the residue of the nutrients left from soya acts as the added nutrients to the wheat.
