When we talk about crop destroying fungus attacks, we come to know that there are almost as many species of the mildew fungus as there are plants they can impact on. Most of these harmful fungus species are recognized as mildew. They focus their attack primarily upon young shoots which start showingthe signs of wilting or appear shriveled even before the actual signs of the grey lookingmildew become visible on the plant. Thus, fungus attacks are a great cause of concern in agricultural practices. There have been a number of initiatives taken to fight this epidemic Some found their success and some went in vain.The use of efficient fungicides remained a workable solution to prevent the crops being destroyed by fungus.

HPM India brought a new variety of fungicide for farmers and agriculturists, which is gaining identification as a great relief to fungus attacks and to save the crops, especially fruit and vegetable crops. Before the introduction of formula based fungicides such as PREDICT, dusting the plants with a sulphur-based product to treat the mildew was a common practice. The problem with this form of remedy was that the sulphur often did as much damage to the plants as the fungus itself. But now, PREDICT is here to save the day. When the days are warm and nights are cool, mildew is in its ideal environment. Typically spring and autumn are the most active periods for mildew attack and it’s worse during dry days. It’s recommended that PREDICT spray regimes be alternated with regular watering sessions. It’s always a good idea to plant at least one susceptible rose variety in your garden to act as an indicator of potential outbursts as roses plats are good catchers of mildew.
