Corporate Social Responsibility is the continuing commitment by the business to behave ethically and contribute to the economic development, while at the same time improving the overall quality of life of the workforce, their families and the community & society at large. As these ideologies are built right into the motto and operations of HPM. The farming community has been the backbone of our country, and this is the reason HPM and this is why we are proud to share with you an initiative pioneered by HPM with the focus of spreading awareness about creating something which is meaningful and extends beyond business- a better life for farmers.

Truly a one of a kind initiative, HPM simultaneously organised ‘Santosh Krishi Diwas’ in seventy-two schools all across the country. The aim of the event was to instil the idea of proper farming methods and techniques right from the base in children from primary classes. ‘Santosh Krishi Diwas’ partnering with villages from the interior of the country and under the guidance of our MD Ashok Aggarwal and Director Tapasya, our initiative was to focus on Government primary schools so that we could connect with the maximum number of kids and give them the most current and relevant information about farming techniques, advancements in irrigation technology, crop growth and information, and several other tips and techniques.

They were taught about the relevance of farming in our economy and how these kids as individuals can contribute to the betterment of the same. Our team took the initiative to distribute merchandise that has been specifically crafted keeping in mind the needs and requirements of kids from primary schools. Our gift package included a highly durable and useful water bottle, notebooks made from recyclable material and a infographic designed specially for kids so that they can understand the information that has been provided to them. ‘Santosh Krishi Diwas’ was a major initiative that focused on moulding the kids’ understanding towards the importance of farming. Our company takes pride in the success and the large scale of the event. It was a challenging task for the team to organise such an event on a Pan-India scale, but HPM only believes in setting the bar higher for ourselves.

Environmental benefits of the crop rotation : The implementation of crop rotation cut the nitrogen fertilizer use and drastically reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The global warming potential of nitrous oxide is higher than that of carbon dioxide. Reduced synthetic fertilizer also means reduced greenhouse gas emissions from manufacture and transportation. It also reduces the number of synthetic fertilizers and that’s why the water pollution caused by nitrogen will also cut. The rotations with a high share of crops and lesser dependence on pesticides bring down the use of pesticides as well as runoff into groundwater. Crop rotation has many environmental benefits and is being widely taking in the new agriculture methods. In spite of these, crop rotation benefits the sustainability and productivity of the farm. Also, this system enhances soil fertility by promoting the growth of various soil organisms and offer a climate friendly source of energy.

And finally, the CSR event was not just something that we were compelled to do, it was something that the entire ideology of HPM stands upon- yielding prosperity.
