Why Insecticides & Agriculture go hand in hand towards growth of agriculture in India

The UN Food and Agriculture organization IPPC Secretariat quotes that 20-40 percent of the international crop is lost due to plant pests and diseases. Farmers spray to mitigate crop damage due to pests. Insect pests can have large and irreversible impacts on yields and crops, which can affect consumers through higher crop prices. Much like we take measures in our gardens to keep our crops free from insects and disease, farmers use crop protection products (herbicides, insecticides, fungicides, etc.) to help control the thousands of weed species, harmful insects, and plant diseases that may afflict crops. Whether conventional or organic, farmers confront these challenges every single growing season. The need to use crop protection products may vary by climate, climate, and geographical place so each farm presents different needs from the spectrum of crop protection products. So as to comprehend how and why particular crop protection products are used, it’s important to comprehend the science behind how and why they work. Insecticides work in many unique ways by impacting their target, if it be a weed, pest, or disease.

Not only do farmers need to fight weeds which steal nutrients, water and sunlight from our plants, but other things need to eat our food also. There are over 500,000 insect species that feed on plants that are growing. Other insects cause injury while the food is being transported or stored. There are all sorts of pests, and you will find therapies applied to protect the food and fibre grown from them damaging and eating the crop. Employee training is very important when it comes to using insecticides. Employees are protected under the Worker Protection Standard in addition to the Hazard Communication Standard, which requires employers to disclose any toxic or hazardous substances in workplaces. This also requires any employee unrestricted access to Material Safety Data Sheets for any substances used as well as proper training to understand potential security risks. Additionally, there are field re-entry periods put in place according to pesticide label requirements.

“Technology has allowed for precision spraying so that the essential quantity of insecticides is applied to just the regions of the field which are damaged by the insects. We contract with companies using precision spray rigs to apply insecticides. They survey the area and crop damage and are precise, within less than an inch, with their program. By only applying the minimal amount, this reduces the potential for run off and adverse changes to the soil,” says Sawyer. Farmers routinely utilize specialized nozzles to control individual droplet size thereby reducing the possibility of spray drift, adds Bowling. Adjusting ground rate and pressure also minimizes off-target motion by insecticides. Adjustable spray booms are generally utilized to adjust the height of spray applications over the canopy to decrease the time needed for insecticides to speak to their intended targets.

But there are also substantial Advantages to society, including: Insecticides are the only effective way of controlling disease organisms, weeds, or insect pests in several conditions. Consumers receive direct benefits from insecticides through wider selections and lower prices for clothing and food. Insecticides protect personal, public, and commercial dwellings from structural damage associated with termite infestations. Insecticides contribute to enhanced human health by preventing disease outbreaks throughout the control of rodent and pest populations. Insecticides are used to sanitize our recreational and drinking water. Insecticides are used to disinfect indoor areas (e.g., kitchens, operating rooms, nursing homes) and surgical and dental instruments. As an example, local communities and state governments could be partly dependent upon the jobs and tax base that pesticide manufacturers, distributors, dealers, commercial applicators, and farmers supply.”

HPM India is one such agriculture company helping farmers worldwide for providing the best solutions for better farming. We are also the Gibberellic acid 0.001 L manufacturers in India. The company also involved in supply and export of Gibberellic Acid 0.001% L worldwide. We are offering many plant growth regulators that can improve the physiological efficiency of the crop, enhance taste and quality of fruits, promote seed germination point leading to breaking of seed dormancy and increase stem length in flowers grown for export.
