Devsena – A War Against Pests!

Pests are and always were a core threat to crops and agriculture! Farmers have always been looking for and devising newer methods to fight pests under a range of activities. Pest management practices is a vast topic of discussion amongst scientists and agriculturists. Usually pest management strategies are long-term activities focused at pest prevention and saving the crops. This methodical war against pests involves a stipulated use of pesticides too.

The sole objective of long-term activities is to keep existing pest populations and diseases low and to control the further growth. The short-term activity of using pesticides focuses on killing the pests. Here we are going to know the typical signs of pest attacks on crop plants:

Crop pests generally belong to the insects, mites and nematodes species. Other than that, mammals or animals like elephants, monkeys and wolves, and birds like sparrows, starlings and crows can also cause potential damage to crops.

The crop insect damage is seen in the biting, chewing, piercing or sucking of crop plants. These insects usually are caterpillars, weevils, aphids, and psyllids. Another pest action is boring carried by leaf borers and leaf miners. Some pests are slow moving such as caterpillars, some are fast moving such as fruit flies. Stem borers are usually hidden pests.

One must also know that pest damage is species specific. If you observe holes or missing part in leaves, then the damage is caused by caterpillar or weevil. If the leaves are curled then it is the work of aphids. Damaged or rotten fruits are done by larvae of fruit flies. Withering plants are due to larvae of noctuids or stem borer. If the branches have holes then it is caused by lignivorous insects.

In case the germ is ground too, the item is known as germ flour. It, for example, is rich in vitamins and fiber. Wheat germ is an amazing supply of minerals. It provides a great range of nutritional benefits which can help you maintain a healthy lifestyle. It is a bountiful source of energy, fiber, protein, and complex carbohydrates, all of which interact in numerous ways with the body’s internal systems. It is a very good source of complex carbohydrates. The little germ in the wheat may not appear very impressive, but its effects are extremely powerful.

Mites also cause potential harm to crops. They are very small and cannot be seen with the naked eye. However, some mite species such as spider mites weave a typical tissue on attacked plant parts and thus leave a sign of their existence. Another way to detect mites is that if they are present on plants, the leaves and fruits become yellowish.

Nematodes is another pest species which is very small, and cannot be seen with naked eye. They mostly attack plant roots and crop plants become yellow, wither and die soon after. How to protect crops from pest attacks? HPM India brings a workable solution to this by introducing a new pesticide on shelf called Devsena. Devsena is a Thiamethoxam 75% WS composition and is introduced as a fighter pesticide in agricultural practices. Here are some of the crucial specifications of Devsena that should be taken in account:

It is broad spectrum systemic insecticide and contains the active ingredient Thiamethoxam. Devsena is a soil-applied insecticide and has a quick action against sucking and chewing pests. It is labeled for use on Ground Nut, Sugarcane, Rice and Cotton. The application may be directed at the base of the plant for optimum root uptake when making post-emergence applications. It improves the plant from primary treatment, and shows a faster action, resulting in higher yield and improved crop quality with longer-lasting systemic control. The recommended usage is to take the required quantity of the Devsena and mix it well with a small quantity of water. Remaining quantity of water as specified must be added with thorough agitation and applied at the time of soil drenching in Ground Nut, Sugarcane and Cotton. For rice crop, a measured quantity of the product should be dissolved in 500 ml of water to make solution for mixing. This mixed solution must be spread around the soil at the rate of 8 kg/acre. Devsena has negligible effect on beneficial insects that eat weeds. Knowledge about plant health and pest ecology helps the farmer to choose effectively preventive crop protection measures. It is known that many factors influence the development of pests, therefore, it’s crucial to step in at the most sensitive points and control the damaged before it is caused. This can be accomplished through the right timing of management practices, a suitable combination of different methods, or the choice of a selective pesticides. HPM India is instrumental in educating the farmers and bringing the knowledge about pests control to them. Product Devsena is truly a war against pests!
