Butachlor is a herbicide of the acetanilide class. It is used as a selective pre-emergent herbicide, absorbed primarily by the germinating shoots, and secondarily by the roots, with translocation throughout the plant, giving higher concentrations in the vegetative parts than in reproductive parts. it is used for the control of annual grasses and certain broad-leaved weeds in rice., both seeded and transplanted. it shows selectivity in barley, cotton peanuts, sugar beet, wheat and several brassica crops.
a) Mammalian toxicity: WHO (a.i.) U, Unlikely to be Hazardous. Environmental toxicity: Butachlor is toxic to fish and other aquatic organisms. Butachlor is toxic to bees and other beneficial insects. Butachlor has low toxicity to birds.

50% EC, 50% EW
Compatible with most herbicide formulations except very strongacid/alkaline formulations.
Two years under normal storage conditions.
